Iran to Modernize Medical Waste Treatment Using Belgian Technology

Iran’s Health Ministry has reached an agreement with a Belgian firm to modernize the process of healthcare waste disposal in Iranian hospitals.

The agreement on medical waste treatment was made during a visit by Iran’s Health Minister Hassan Qazizadeh Hashemi to the AMB Company in Brussels Tuesday.

The Belgian firm is a manufacturer of equipment and machinery used for recycling, recovery and processing of medical waste.

According to a Farsi report by IRIB News Agency, managers of the company have expressed willingness to pay a visit to Iran to discuss closer cooperation.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Iranian minister and his accompanying delegation visited a science and technology park south of Brussels.

Qazizadeh Hashemi entered Belgium Monday to foster greater health cooperation with the European country.

After a two-day trip to Belgium, Qazizadeh Hashemi will head to Hungary on Wednesday.
