The commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has strongly condemned Washington over the Countering America's Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (CAATSA).
IRGC Chief-Commander Major General Mohammad-Ali Jafari says the Americans are seeking to implement CAATSA against the IRGC under the pretext of Iran’s missile and defensive power.
“The move is basically an economic sanction,” he noted, according to a Farsi report by Tasnim News Agency.
“Today, Iranian people care as much about their missile power as their honour,” said the top General.
He said Iran’s defense capability is just an excuse for Washington, adding, “Their target is Iran’s economy.”
He said the US should know that the more it ratchets up economic pressure and sanctions against Iran, the more determined the Iranian nation gets in boosting its defensive and missile capabilities.
“Iranian missiles will also become more precise,” he vowed.
