Alvares Ski Resort in the steep hillside of Sabalan Mountain is 12 kilometers away from Alvares village and 24 kilometers away from Sareyn county in the northeastern province of Ardabil.
Alvares stands 3,200 meters above the sea level. It can attract skiers for about six to eight months of each year due to its cold temperature which prevents the snow from melting.
