A weather forecast service has said Zabol in Iran’s southeast was the hottest place on earth over the past 24 hours.
The service said temperatures in the city in Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan Province hit the 50.8 Celsius mark among more than 8,800 weather stations while the country spent the first day of summer on Thursday.
Zehak, which is 27 kilometers from Zabol, also experienced a 50.6 Celsius temperature for the first time in the past 3 decades.
