Iran has managed to promote its military capabilities in spite of the US sanctions, and is now capable enough of targeting America’s bases in the region, said the IRGC Lieutenant Commander Brigadier General Hossein Salami.
General Salami said on Saturday despite the US sanctions and pressures, the Islamic Republic of Iran managed to promote its military capabilities significantly.
“Today, thanks to God’s grace, we are powerful more than ever. The US’ weakness before Iran became clear when we arrested their marines in the Persian Gulf two years ago,” a Farsi report by Al-Alam quoted him as saying.
Addressing the Conference of Foreign Guests Participating in the Celebrations of Iran’s 1979 Revolution anniversary, General Salami said the US has failed in its projects in Syria.
“As you know well, the US, the UK and the Zionist regime as well other regional states like Saudi Arabia hatched up a dangerous plot through creating Takfiri groups in the Islamic world with two main goals in mind: First creating a civil war in the Muslim world through deviating their fight against arrogant foreign powers and second, portraying an ugly and violent image of Islam in the world.”
He said fortunately today the Muslim world from Shiites to Sunnis have got united in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Palestine, Bahrain, Yemen and Azerbaijan against the enemies.
“Over the past four decades, since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, the US has gained no significant achievement in the region,” he noted.
The senior commander said the Zionist regime has been created by the US and the UK, adding the Islamic Republic of Iran began to inflict heavy blows on the US since early years of the Islamic Revolution.
He then referred to the prediction of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution about the future of Israel, saying as the leader said the Zionist regime will collapse in less than 25 years by the Islamic nations.
