Saudis to Incur God’s Wrath for Crimes in Yemen: Iran Leader

Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has warned that the Al Saud regime will definitely incur God’s wrath over the crimes it is committing against the innocent people of Yemen.

“The crime the Al Saud is committing to occupy Yemen will finally backfire,” the Leader said in a Wednesday meeting with the families of Iranian martyrs in Tehran.

“It’s been four years that they [Saudis] are committing crimes in Yemen. They thought they would win the battle in a few days or weeks, but the more they move forward, the heavier will become their defeat and the blow dealt on them,” he added.

The Leader said the Custodians of the Two Holy Mosques must take a hard line on infidels, but the Saudi rulers have taken their hard line on Yemen and Bahrain.

“This will provoke God’s wrath,” the Leader warned.

Saudi Arabia and its allies launched a devastating war, code-named Operation Decisive Storm, against Yemen in March 2015 in an attempt to reinstall Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a staunch ally of Riyadh, and crush the Houthi Ansarullah movement.

The Western-backed offensive initially consisted of a bombing campaign, but was later coupled with a naval blockade and the deployment of ground forces to Yemen.

The imposed war has so far failed to achieve its goals, thanks to stiff resistance from Yemeni troops and allied Houthi fighters, but it has killed thousands of innocent people and led to a deadly famine and cholera outbreak.

Trump Reveals Ugly Face of US to World

Ayatollah Khamenei further referred to Washington’s complicity in the Saudi crimes in Yemen, and described it as a sign that shows the true face of the United States.

“Look at the US statesmen today; look at their lust for money, violation of rights, and indifference to the lives and properties of human beings. Yemen is just an example,” he said.

“The crime is committed by the Saudis; but the US is accomplice, as they have admitted. They attack hospitals, markets, and highly-populated areas; they are criminals. This is the US’ face,” the Leader noted.

He then addressed the Iranian nation, and said, “You can look at the American statesmen and the US president to know the true face of America. They have explicitly revealed the ugly face of the US.”

Despite mounting criticism over the humanitarian crisis in the impoverished country and calls on the US government to stop its arms support for the Saudi-led coalition, the Trump administration recently announced it wants to continue support for the Saudi war on Yemen.

US Deputy Assistant Secretary for Persian Gulf Affairs Timothy Lenderking said on Sunday Washington’s backing for the Saudi war is “necessary” and that its discontinuation “sends a wrong message.”

“Obviously there are pressures in our system … to either withdraw from the conflict or discontinue our support of the coalition, which we are strongly opposed to on the administration side,” he told a security forum in the UAE.

Last month, the US Senate voted to advance a resolution calling for an end to US military support for the Saudi-led coalition, including arms sales and intelligence sharing.

US Plot to Create Chaos in Iran

Ayatollah Khamenei also pointed to the US’ plan to create chaos in Iran, and said the plot has been uncovered and they have no other plan to harm the Islamic Republic.

“They have done whatever they could. The US’ plot is to create disagreement, civil war, and problems in our country through sanctions and anti-security measures. They have made all their efforts to this end.”

This spring, “the Americans announced Iran will face a hot summer, and won’t last to celebrate its 40th birthday,” the Leader said.

However, to their dismay, this summer was one of the best ones, and the Iranian nation will celebrate the fortieth birthday of its Islamic Revolution in February in a more glorious way than ever.

The Leader at the same time warned the Iranian people of the Americans’ future plots to disrupt the country’s security.

“The Iranian nation must remain vigilant. It might be a trick that the Americans said they would do such things in 2018. They might be creating the fuss in 2018, and hatch the plot for 2019. Everyone must remain vigilant,” he noted.

“The US is a mischievous enemy that works with the Zionists and regional reactionaries. We must remain awake. Of course we are stronger, and they have so far failed to do anything, and will fail to do a damn thing from now on.”

He also urged all the youth and various political factions and bodies in the country not to prepare the ground for the enemy’s plots.

US President Donald Trump entered the White House promising to take a more aggressive approach to Iran than his predecessor, Barack Obama, whose administration negotiated the landmark nuclear deal with Tehran along with Britain, France, Russia, China and Germany.

Since then, he has surrounded himself with known Iran hawks like John Bolton and supporters of the anti-Iran terrorist group MKO, and re-imposed many of the sanctions that were lifted as part of the 2015 deal.
