Raisi: I Can’t Afford Extravagant Presidential Campaign

Iranian presidential candidate Ebrahim Raisi says it is not possible for him to financially support his campaign headquarters, urging that maximum care should be taken in the management of the HQ’s monetary affairs to avoid extravagance.

According to a Farsi report by ILNA, the Iranian conservative presidential candidate, Ebrahim Raisi, says he cannot afford to financially support his election campaign headquarters across Iran, and called on the heads of his local HQs to take maximum care to avoid unnecessary spending.

Meanwhile, a Farsi report by Shargh newspaper said Ali Nikzad, the roads and urban construction minister in the cabinet of the former Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has been appointed the chief head of Raisi’s election campaign headquarters.

Addressing Nikzad in his appointment order, Raisi said, “Given your background, precious experiences, qualifications and scientific and executive capabilities, I, hereby, appoint you the head of my presidential election campaign.”

 

He also called on Nikzad, and all those engaged in the activities of his election campaign headquarters, to manifest an excellent example of a healthy and democratic election competition and activity by adhering to the Islamic ethical principles, observing the law in all stages of the election, avoiding extravagance, using modern methods in running his presidential campaign, seeking the advices and opinions of religious scholars, the society’s intellectuals and the country’s scientific elites and staying away from creating tensions and disturbing the society’s peace.
