The historic Musalla (mosque) of Mashhad in Iran's Khorasan Razavi Province is located on a street with the same name in the east of the holy city.
In the past times, the mosque was located behind the city walls and considered as a place to host passenger groups.
This Musalla was constructed in the year 1087 AH during the Safavid era. It was registered in the list of Iran’s national heritage over 80 years ago. The structure, besides its portico and two porches, has a brick-made dome decorated with tile and plaster works.
The interior space of the mosque is decorated with inscriptions of Quranic verses.
