Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and visiting Head of European Parliament's Delegation for Relations with Iran (D-IR), Janusz Lewandowski, have exchanged views on issues of mutual interests in a meeting in Tehran.
During the Saturday talks, the two sides conferred on ways to deepen ties between the Islamic Republic and Europe. They also talked about the latest developments in the region and the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.
Lewandowski once again expressed the full support of the European countries for the JCPOA and called for its full implementation by all parties.
“The JCPOA is the fruit of patience and diplomacy of all negotiating sides,” he said, adding that the results of the nuclear deal must be tangible.
For his part, the Iranian foreign minister referred to the European Union as a reliable partner for Iran and underlined the need for all signatories to fully implement the deal.
Iran should be able to reap the full benefits of the nuclear deal, Zarif said, calling for the removal of restrictions on banking ties with Tehran.
Elsewhere in the meeting, the Iranian top diplomat also replied to questions set forth by members of the European delegation about the latest regional developments.
