The Lieutenant Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corp (IRGC) for Political Affairs Brigadier General Rasoul Sanaei Rad says it was God's reward for Iran that the US dishonoured its commitments regarding the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (nuclear deal between Tehran and world powers).
nuclearAccording to a Farsi report by Basij Press, Sanaei Rad said Americans intend to drag Iran to misery and hardship so that we will recognize Saudi Arabia and then Israel as enjoying the upper hand [in the region]…. The US violation of the nuclear deal, however, was God’s reward for Iran, because their move to take such a heinously unreasonable measure would benefit Iran the most.”
He further said all forms of power, including militarism, must be bolstered in the country because a military might must be there to act as the backbone of dialogue with them [westerners].
“Those who believed that the Islamic Establishment cannot hold talks or does not even intend to do so, must be informed that we can hold talks as long as our people’s interests are protected. The problem is that the other side of the talks is not trustworthy and the US has preserved its wolf-like demeanor.”
The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) known commonly as the Iran deal or Iran nuclear deal, is an international agreement on the nuclear program of Iran reached in Vienna on 14 July 2015 between Iran, the P5+1 (the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council—China, France, Russia, United Kingdom, United States—plus Germany), and the European Union.
