Iran Can ‘Satisfy’ US by Restricting IAEA Inspection: Larijani

Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani has referred to the US criticism of the International Atomic Energy Agency’s handling of Iran’s nuclear activities, saying Tehran is prepared to restrict the IAEA’s inspection if the US thinks it is not ‘good enough’.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Larijani slammed the US violation of its commitments under the nuclear deal, particularly the recent anti-Iran sanctions imposed by the US Senate, and warned that the Islamic Republic is capable of changing the situation very rapidly.

If the US thinks the IAEA’s handling of Iran’s nuclear activities is not appropriate enough, Tehran can restrict the nuclear watchdog’s monitoring activities, he noted, according to a Farsi report by ISNA.

“Americans suppose that countering the nuclear would benefit them, while they themselves will suffer the greatest harm,” Larijani went on to say.

“Iran is closely monitoring their behavior, and will respond through practical measures,” he noted, vowing that reciprocal decisions will be made in the Parliament immediately after the US violation of its commitments.
