Iran’s foreign ministry has strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack in Afghanistan’s Helmand province, which killed and wounded dozens of people.
In a statement on Thursday, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi denounced the deadly blast in Afghanistan, and offered condolences to the victims’ families as well as the Afghan nation and government.
The terrorists and extremist groups have shown that in a world in which terrorism has turned into a business, they do not have any ethical commitments.
“The terrorists have shown they are ready to continue their anti-human crimes at any time and place,” he said.
The spokesperson also stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran will always stand by the nation of Afghanistan in fight against this “heinous and anti-human” phenomenon.
At least 34 people have been killed and dozens wounded after a strong blast hit a bank in Lashkar Gah, the capital of the southern Afghan province of Helmand.
The Thursday blast targeted the New Kabul Bank branch, where members of Afghan security forces had gathered to collect their pay.
