Grand Carpet Bazaar: Old Market in Heart of Tehran

Carpets are among the things that could be seen at every household in Iran. Also known as Persian rugs, they are made for a wide variety of purposes including home use, local sale, and export.

Carpet weaving is an essential part of Persian culture and Iranian art. Within the group of Oriental rugs or Islamic carpets produced by the countries of the so-called “rug belt”, the Iranian carpet stands out by the variety and elaborateness of its manifold designs.

Tehran carpet market is one of the oldest bazaars in the Iranian capital where you can find every kind of Persian rugs.
