The first charity festival celebrating Iftar [the breaking of the daily fast] in Ramadan was held on Thursday June 9. The event was held at Mafakher Museum to benefit MS patients in Arak, Markazi province.

Iftar is held at sunset, and is commonly a time when families and communities gather to eat food and pray together. As Ramadan currently falls in the hotter summer months, this leads to a great increase in outdoor evening and night-time activities.
