The 2nd edition of Iranian Elites Sculpture Symposium (Dedicated to Contemporary Artists) is being held from July 1 to 9 in capital Tehran.
During the event, which is being held at Tehran’s Einoldoleh Mansion, the busts of 26 contemporary Iranian artists have been put on display.
According to Honar Online, the artists participating in the event were selected based on their background and with the vote of an art council.
The sculptors will have to create the portraits of the figures assigned to them. At the end of the symposium, the sculptures will be molded and the works will be installed at the designated locations in the city. Cash gifts will also be handed to the artists.
The symposium tries to provide the young generation of sculptures with the chance to make use of the experience of veterans. The event is open to the public for free from 9 am to 5 pm.
