Ayatollah Khamenei’s prostate surgery was successful

Supreme Leader is doing well after undergoing prostate surgery.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei underwent successful prostate surgery in Tehran on Monday (September 8).

According to Tasnim News Agency, after the operation President Hassan Rouhani paid a bedside visit to the Supreme Leader.

In an interview afterward, the president said the leader was doing well and there is no reason for concern about the leader’s health.

As for his Tajikistan trip to attend a Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit which was scheduled well in advance of the leader’s hospitalization and surgery, the president said, “I wanted to stay in Tehran, but the Supreme Leader asked me to go on the trip according to schedule.”
