An American tourist, who is attempting to break the Guinness World Records for fastest and youngest person to visit every country around the world, has visited Iran’s Kish Island as her latest destination.
Taylor Demonbreun, 23, is on a mission to become the youngest and fastest person to visit all 195 of the world’s sovereign countries.
Demonbreun graduated from Vanderbilt University last May, with degrees in economics and public policy. After a semester abroad, however, she realized that she no longer wanted to become an investment banker, as she had originally intended.
Instead of spending her last semester in typical senior fashion, Demonbreun used every free minute to plan a record-breaking voyage around the world.
On June 1, less than a month after graduating, she set out for her first country on an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for fastest and youngest person to visit every country around the world. Since starting her journey in the Dominican Republic, Demonbreun has visited over 100 different countries from South America to Europe and Asia over the course of nine months.
Demonbreun blogs about her experience travelling at Trek With Taylor, as well as on Twitter and Instagram, and hopes to inspire other people to push beyond their comfort zones, explore new cultures and learn more about themselves in the process.
She hopes to finish the entire journey by September, but she has until December to finish the trip and still break two Guinness world records.
