The 23rd International Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition of Iran has kicked off in the Iranian capital Tehran.
The four-day exhibition opened in a ceremony on Sunday at Tehran International Permanent Fairground.
According to the Persian-language news agency Shana, the opening ceremony was attended by a number of leading Iranian and foreign officials including Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh, Secretary General of Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) Yury Sentyurin, Deputy Prime Minister of Croatia and Minister of Economy Martina Dalić as well as number of Iranian lawmakers, foreign ambassadors and international company managers.
Some 1,200 Iranian and over 880 foreign companies have taken part in the exhibition, Iranian Oil Ministry said.
The exhibition’s fields of activity include development and study of reserves, geophysical equipment and technologies, equipment and technologies for drilling, equipment for oil and gas production, heavy engineering, pipes and pipelines, transportation of petroleum products, power generation, petrochemical technologies, maintenance, pipeline fittings, compressors, safety technologies, welding equipment, waste treatment and recycling.
Over 38 foreign countries participating in the exhibition include Azerbaijan Republic, Austria, Spain, Germany, the UAE, the UK, Italy, Belgium, Turkey, Czech Republic, China, Russia, Japan, Sweden, Switzerland, France, Croatia, South Korea, Poland,the Netherlands, India, Finland, Hong Kong, Bahrain, Kazakhstan, Monaco, Canada, Liechtenstein, Oman, Denmark, Taiwan, the US, Norway, Australia, Brazil, Malaysia and Singapore.
The international exhibition which holds the first rank in the Middle East and fifth in the world in terms of the number of participants is organized by the Iranian Oil Ministry.
The exhibition is attended by leading producers and manufacturers of the industry, builders, consulting engineers, general contractors, scientific professionals in the field of oil exploration, production and refining and IT experts.
Furthermore, several memorandums of understanding are expected to be signed on the sidelines of the exhibition.
