At least 15 people have died of alcohol poisoning in the northern Iranian province of Mazandaran. Medical sources in Mazandaran say the victims include 13 men and 2 women above the age of 22.
The issue of alcohol poisoning in Mazandaran was covered by the media last week after a medical official there said 53 people had been admitted to hospitals in Amol and Chalus cities.
But now reports say the number of people who have referred to hospitals stands at 112 in Chalus alone.
There have been many deaths and hospitalizations due to alcohol poisoning in other provinces like Gilan in recent days as well.
