Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson had no meeting in New York other than the P+1 meeting, foreign ministry spokesman said.
In a statement on Wednesday, Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi reaffirmed that Iranian FM and his American counterpart held no meeting outside the P5+1 foreign ministerial session in New York.
Qassemi made the comment in response to remarks by his US counterpart who had spoken of extensive talks between Zarif and Tillerson in New York.
“As we have already said, during Dr. Zarif’s recent trip to New York, there was no meeting between the two officials except for the foreign ministerial session of the P5+1 Group on the sidelines of the [UN] General Assembly [meeting],” he said.
