Iranian foreign minister has sarcastically highlighted that most important regional developments are taking place immediately after a foreign official’s visit to the ‘belligerent’ Saudi Arabia.
“Visits to the belligerent Saudi Arabia have proved hazardous to regional health. Trump’s visit led to Bahrain repression followed by Qatar debacle,” Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said in a Monday tweet.
“Visits by [Trump’s son-in-law] Kushner and Lebanese Prime Minister led to Hariri’s bizarre resignation while abroad. Of course, Iran is accused of interference,” he went on to say.
“Saudi Arabia bombs Yemen to smithereens, killing thousands of innocents including babies, spreads cholera and famine, but of course blames Iran,” Zarif added.
He also noted that “Riyadh is engaged in wars of aggression, regional bullying, destabilizing behaviour and risky provocations. It blames Iran for the consequences.”
