The head of the Tazirat organization in the western Iranian city of Paveh in Kermanshah province has been gunned down by unidentified assailants.
Hamed Torkashvand was targeted in the assassination on Saturday when he was leaving his house in the provincial capital Kermanshah, according to informed sources.
The police are investigating the murder which was carried out for hitherto unknown reasons.
The organization, affiliated with the Judiciary, is part of the legal system specifying sentences for crimes according to Islamic law.
