A Look at Iranian Newspaper Front Pages on March 4

IFP has taken a look at the front pages of Iranian newspapers on Sunday, March 4, and picked headlines from 20 of them. IFP has simply translated the headlines and does not vouch for their accuracy.

Several papers today covered the condition set by Spokesman for the Iranian Armed Forces Brigadier General Massoud Jazayeri for possible talks on Iran’s missile program. The senior general said the Islamic Republic would sit at the negotiating table only if the West dismantles all its nuclear weapons and long-range missiles.

Also a top story was the upcoming visit of French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian and the possible areas in which he will hold talks with Iranian officials on Monday. Conservative papers have harshly warned France against raising the issue of Tehran’s missile defence program during the talks.

Remarks by Guardian Council’s Spokesman about the Council’s support for a possible referendum, and also the allegations about the beginning of Iran-EU talks over regional issues also received great coverage.

The above issues, as well as many more, are highlighted in the following headlines and top stories:
