A Look at Iranian Newspaper Front Pages on February 5

IFP has taken a look at the front pages of Iranian newspapers on Monday, February 5, and picked headlines from 12 of them. IFP has simply translated the headlines and does not vouch for their accuracy.

The top story in all papers today was the remarks by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani about the country’s defence power, which is certainly non-negotiable according to him.

The municipality of Tehran and the reformist mayor Mohammad-Ali Najafi are also still under fire for what conservatives describe as the poor management of the city during the recent snowy days.

Minister of Roads and Urban Development Abbas Akhoundi has also remained a target of criticisms over his ministry’s performance after the heavy snowfall.
