A Look at Iranian Newspaper Front Pages on December 12

IFP has taken a look at the front pages of Iranian newspapers on Tuesday, December 12, and picked headlines from 11 of them. IFP has simply translated the headlines and does not vouch for their accuracy.

Several newspapers today discussed the details of the Rouhani administration’s proposed budget for the new fiscal year. A controversial part of the budget was a three-fold increase in departure taxes which has been a subject of discussion in Iranian social media within the past 48 hours.

A phone conversation between Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and the chief of Hamas’ Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh also received great coverage.

Also a top story was the remarks made by Judiciary Spokesman Gholam-Hossein Mohsen Ejei in a meeting with students of Sharif University of Technology.
