A Look at Iranian Newspaper Front Pages on August 3

IFP has taken a look at the front pages of Iranian newspapers on Thursday, August 3, and picked headlines from 19 of them. IFP has simply translated the headlines and does not vouch for their accuracy.

The top story in all Iranian newspapers today was the Thursday ceremony where the Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei was going to endorse President Hassan Rouhani’s presidential decree for second term.

Since Friday is the weekend holiday in Iran, newspapers also highlighted the upcoming inauguration ceremony due to be held in the Parliament on Saturday. A huge number of foreign officials are going to participate the ceremony, where Rouhani will be sworn in to take the office.

US President Donald Trump’s move to sign into law a bill approved by the US Congress to impose fresh sanctions on Iran, Russia, and North Korea also received great coverage.

A number of papers also continued to cover the possible results of a handshake between Iranian and Saudi foreign ministers in Istanbul.
