The leader of the ISIS terrorist group, Ibrahim al-Samarrai, also known as Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, has asked for financial assistance of his Arab sponsors to plot a bomb attack in western Mosul, northern Iraq.
The ISIS leader’s terrorist plan is aimed at convincing the Iraqi government and army that he possesses a large number of explosives, according to a Farsi report by IRNA.
Umar Badreddin, an expert on terrorist groups, revealed that since the ISIS terrorist organization in Mosul aims to, at any cost, prevent the early recapture of western Mosul by Iraqi forces, it has dispatched two delegations to a number of Arab countries and Persian Gulf littoral states, seeking monetary assistance to purchase arms.
He said that the ISIS has lost a major portion of its armaments in its recent battles.
Badreddin added certain sources in Mosul have divulged that al-Baghdadi plans to contact a number of wealthy people to obtain fund for buying weaponry, for he has lost a major part of its arsenal in recent conflicts.
“In some neighbourhoods, Iraqi forces have managed to disarm ISIS terrorists and make them to run away.”
