Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has introduced his new deputies on the basis of the ministry’s new structure.
According to Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi, at a ceremony on Wednesday afternoon Zarif appointed Moteza Sarmadi as Deputy Foreign Minister, Seyyed Abbas Araqchi as Deputy for Political Affairs, Gholam-Reza Ansari as Deputy for Economic Affairs, Gholam-Hossein Dehghani as Deputy for Legal and International Affairs, and Hossein Panahi-Azar as Deputy for Iranian Expatriates’ and Parliamentary Affairs.
Meanwhile, Qassemi has been reinstated as the Foreign Ministry’s Spokesman and Head of Public Diplomacy and Media Centre.
Zarif has also appointed Seyyed Mohammad-Kazem Sajjadpour as Head of the Centre for Political and International Studies, Mohammad Taqi Saberi as Deputy for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Hossein Jaberi Ansari as the Minister’s Special Assistant in Political Affairs, and Hassan Qashqavi as the Minister’s Adviser.
The newly-appointed officials will begin their work in the new positions as of January 21.
