President Rouhani has urged regional nations to take collective measures to battle terrorists and stop the killing of Muslims.
Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani has called on regional countries to adopt collective and constant measures to fight terrorists and put an end to the killing of Muslims.
“The [Middle East] region is at a very difficult juncture and all regional countries should weather this stage through planning and making efforts to restore peace and security to its nations,” President Rouhani said in a telephone conversation with Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani on Friday.
He stressed the importance of battling terrorism and respecting the national sovereignty of countries.
“Any move against any country without coordination with that country’s government will increase instability,” the Iranian president pointed out.
The Qatari emir, for his part, urged vigilance to solve very serious problems in the region.
He said both Shia and Sunni Muslims are currently faced with the problem of terrorism.
Rouhani and Al Thani exchanged views on the latest developments in the region, particularly crimes by terrorist groups and the killing of innocent people, expressing hope the bloodshed would be stopped and ground would be prepared for the establishment of regional security.
