The Iranian teenage freestyle wrestling team won the title of 2023 World Cadet Wrestling Championships by winning 6 medals.
Iran’s under-17 freestyle wrestling team grabbed 2 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 2 bronze medals to become the world champions in the tournament in Istanbul on Sunday.
The Iranian team won the competition with 156 points and was trailed by the USA and Japan teams who scored 126 and 106, respectively.
World U17 Wrestling Championships took place from July 31 to 6 August in Istanbul, Turkey. The tournament had been held under the title of World Cadets Wrestling Championships until 2021.
