Iranian short film "A Poetess" has received the Best Foreign Film award from the jury in the California Women’s Film Festival.
Directed by Sahra Fathi and Saeed Dashti, the short film was placed in the Jury Category Winners and won the best foreign film award from the Californian festival.
The festival is dedicated to the films having a woman in the main creating team and being focused on a woman as the main character.
“A Poetess” depicts the life of Sara. Considering arguments and issues with her husband, Sara is hesitant to choose between aborting their child and immigration or staying in her country. By realizing the truth about her husband, she makes up her mind and plans for a new future.
