Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is going to visit Iraq on Wednesday, September 11, his first foreign trip since taking office over one month ago.
During his first foreign trip after taking office, the Iranian president is going to hold meetings with senior Iraqi officials and sign a series of agreements, including one of security cooperation.
Pezeshkian is also expected to visit the holy Shiite shrines in Karbala and Najaf and pay visits to Basra and Erbil as well.
The Iranian president has described cooperation for regional development as the guiding principle of his administration’s foreign policy.
