The total number of covid-19 vaccines administered in Iran is now 112,273,684 doses. They include 3,307,997 triple-vaxxed people.
Despite the downward trend in deaths and infections in Iran, authorities say the vaccination process will continue forcefully until the entire population is fully inoculated.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Health Ministry figures on Thursday show Covid killed 63 people in the country in the past 24 hours. The total Covid fatalities stand at 130,946. Since Wednesday 2,500 new Covid infections including 358 hospitalizations were logged.
The total caseload is 6,165,454. The majority of the cases, that is 5,990,897 people have recovered from Covid.
Iranian officials believe a range of factors helped maintain the downward trend in Covid deaths and infections in the country including a fast vaccination drive across the country, unrelenting efforts by the government such as vaccine production and imports and people’s help with the inoculation process.
Also, the vast majority of Iranians welcomed the vaccination campaign and anti-vaxxers are few in the country.
Now authorities have relaxed some curbs put in place to contain Covid. But they urge people to be cautious as the outbreak could surge again.
Meanwhile the number of Covid red zones in Iran is zero now while the vast majority of cities and towns countrywide are marked blue, meaning people in those areas face the lowest level of threat from the Coronavirus.
