Iran Condemns Libya Terrorist Attacks

Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi has condemned the deadly terrorist bomb attacks in the Libyan city of Benghazi, calling for a global campaign against terror.

In a Wednesday statement, Qassemi denounced the twin car blasts, and offered condolences to the families of the victims.

“Global consensus and cooperation is needed to launch a serious and overarching campaign against unbridled terrorism, which, even after suffering ignominious defeats in the region, continues to kill people as part of its violence and evil deeds,” he noted.

At least 33 people were killed and dozens more wounded in the twin car bomb attack in Benghazi. An explosives-laden vehicle went off in front of a mosque in the neighbourhood of al-Salmani as worshippers were leaving evening prayers. Minutes later, another car blew up in the same area causing more casualties among security forces and civilians.
