Deputy Speaker of the Bosnian House of Peoples Safet Softić says Iran can serve as the leader of regional countries in resolving the Middle East’s woes and crises.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran can serve as the leader of regional countries in resolving regional problems, helping settle these woes and crises,” Softić said in a Sunday meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in Tehran.
“Bosnia and Herzegovina is keen to promote its cooperation with Iran and increase the number of delegations the two sides exchange,” he noted.
The Bosnian deputy speaker added that his country welcomes the promotion of Tehran-Sarajevo cooperation in attracting and exchanging tourists and easing visa restrictions.
Softić thanked Iran’s hospitality, and said his participation in Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s inauguration ceremony was based on a decision by the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He also congratulated Iran on its success in the implementation of its nuclear deal with world powers, also known as JCPOA.
Zarif, for his part, said Bosnia and Herzegovina and its people have a special position among Iranian people.
He also called for the enhancement of Iran-Bosnia mutual cooperation in economic and cultural fields, fight against extremism, and facilitation of visa issuance to increase the number of tourists and businessmen visiting the two states.
Also in response to Softić’s invitation for him to visit the Balkan state, Zarif expressed the hope that he would make the visit in future.
