Spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Behrouz Kamalvandi warned the US and other world powers that Tehran can return its nuclear program to conditions before the July 2015 deal much faster than estimated by them.
“Since the beginning, we have foreseen measures for return scenarios and if needed, we are ready to provide the conditions so rapidly that will certainly surprise the other side,” Kamalvandi said on Thursday, June 16.
“If we decide to return to the past conditions because of the other side’s non-compliance to the nuclear deal, naturally, we can have very good conditions rapidly using advanced centrifuges,” he added.
Kamalvandi referred to certain US candidates’ threats of tearing up the nuclear deal with Tehran, saying if they want to do what they claim, they will certainly face many problems since Iran enjoys high potentials if reciprocal acts or returning back are needed.
In relevant remarks on Tuesday, June 14, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei warned the US presidential candidates to watch their mouth when speaking of the Vienna nuclear deal, stressing that Tehran will also ditch the agreement if future White House leaders show disrespect and discard it.
“We will not violate the JCPOA, but if the opposite side violates it – as US presidential candidates are currently threatening to tear up the JCPOA – if they tear up the JCPOA, we will burn it,” the Leader stated.
The Leader’s warning is deemed as a general message to the political brass in Washington, but seems to be more addressed to the US presidential candidate, Donald Trump.
The totally estrange presidential nominee has repeatedly warned that he would tear apart and discard the nuclear deal with Iran on day one of office if he is ever elected, while his Democrat rival Hillary Clinton has said that she would remain loyal to the deal although she has vowed to be tough on Iran.
