President of the Senate of Spain Pío García-Escudero has hailed the nuclear deal between Tehran and world powers, saying the results of JCPOA can be clearly seen in the increased economic relations between Tehran and Madrid.
In a Sunday meeting with Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in Tehran, García-Escudero expressed pleasure with being in Iran and attending President Hassan Rouhani’s inauguration.
He highlighted the age-old relations between Iran and Spain, and voiced Madrid’s interest in expanding cooperation with the Islamic Republic in various fields.
The Spanish senate president pointed to the nuclear deal between Tehran and world powers, and said the JCPOA has provided very good opportunities for increasing trade and commercial exchanges and investment.
Zarif, in turn, bid García-Escudero welcome, and hailed the existing grounds for Iran-Spain cooperation and dialogue in various fields.
He particularly pointed to cultural and artistic relations, and stressed that cooperation in such fields can help reinforce bilateral ties.
The Iranian FM further referred to the cheap price of energy, the geographical location, the efficient human resources, and peace and stability as his country’s most important features, and said such factors have created the appropriate grounds for foreign firms’ investment.
The two sides also underlined the need for promotion of economic cooperation and removing barriers to the development of such collaborations.
