Four people in Iran died of Covid-19 infection during the past 24 hours and 179 new cases were registered, the Iranian Health Ministry said in its daily update on Wednesday.
The daily fatalities have remained single-digit for weeks after reaching several hundred deaths per day for months, but authorities say the country is still not out of the woods and people need to observe health protocols despite the diminishing number of infections and deaths.
The number of vaccines administered across the 85-million strong nation is a little more than 150 million.
Health Ministry officials are encouraging people to get the booster jabs.
