IFP has taken a look at the front pages of Iranian newspapers on Thursday, May 17, and picked headlines from 18 of them. IFP has simply translated the headlines and does not vouch for their accuracy.
The top story in many newspapers today was the remarks made by EU Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini about the fate of the Iran nuclear deal. Mogherini has stressed that the EU cannot give Iran any guarantee, but it will do its best to protect the European investments in Iran.
Several papers also covered North Korea’s threat to cancel a planned meeting between Kim Jong-un and US President Donald Trump.
A deal between Iran and the British consortium Pergas also made the headlines today, as the UK became the first Western state to enter business with Iran following the US withdrawal from the JCPOA and the upcoming return of sanctions on the Islamic Republic.
