Iranian footballer Voria Ghafuri، the captain of the champion of Iran's super league, has bid farewell to his previous club Esteghlal FC and its fans several weeks after the team’s officials did not contact him to extend his contract for the new season of the Iranian Super League.
Ghafuri posted a short message on his Instagram account, saying, “Good bye, Champion Esteghlal.”
During the period when Ghafuri’s contract hanged in the balance, many Esteghlal FC fans got angry and started a hashtag to show their discontent with the team’s management over the matter.
Ghafuri led Esteghlal FC to championship at Iran’s Super League this year.
