Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Larvov, who is in Tehran at the invitation of his Iranian counterpart, on Wednesday met with Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi.
This is Lavrov’s first visit to Tehran under the 13th Iranian administration.
During the 2-day visit, the Russian foreign minister will discuss with Iranian officials the Iran nuclear deal and the situation in Ukraine, Syria and Afghanistan.
The top Russian diplomat and the Iranian officials will also explore ways of strengthening trade and energy cooperation between Tehran and Moscow and will look into areas of cooperation with the Eurasian and Caucasian countries.
