Osman Mohammad-Parast, also known as Osman, a renowned dutar player of Iran and one of the few last remaining pillars of the Khorsan Maqami music died on Thursday after a long illness.
The music master also had his name registered as an international actor after starring in a movie jointly made by Iran and Japan.
Osman Mohammad-Parast participated in dozens of national and international music festivals, which elevated the Khorasan Maqami music.
He was also a charitable citizen and built more than 900 schools with help from the cultural assistance community in different parts of Iran.
Mohammad-Parast was 94 when he died.
