Zayandeh Rud is the largest and most watery river in Iran’s central plateau.
It originates from the central Zagros mountains, especially Zard Kuh in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province, moves eastward through Iran’s central plain and finally flows into Gav Khuni wetland.
During this year’s Nowruz holidays, the historical monuments of Isfahan along Zayandeh Rud are major destinations for tourists.
