Mehdi Taj becomes head of Iran’s Football Federation

Mehdi Taj has been elected as head of the Football Federation of Iran for a four-year term.

In a three-candidate race on Tuesday, Taj secured 51 votes, followed by the federation’s acting president Mirshad Majedi, who secured 25 votes.

Azizollah Mohammadi also finished third with four votes.

Taj was president of the Iranian Football Federation from 2016 until 2019.
