Saudi Arabia and certain Western countries are taking obstructive measures to prevent Iran from benefitting from advantages of the post-JCPOA conditions, Larijani said in a gathering of religious activists on Saturday.
He was referring to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, a lasting nuclear deal between Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany), which took effect in January.
What Saudis are doing in the region against Iran is an open feud, the speaker added, making a reference to the Saudi foreign minister’s recent emphasis on impeding any economic gains for Iran.
Fuming about the West’s engagement with Iran and implementation of the JCPOA, the Riyadh regime accuses Tehran of destabilizing the region.
Iran describes the accusations as baseless, saying they are made by a country that has gained notoriety for fostering the Takfiri ideology and supporting terrorists in the Middle East.
