Larijani Invites Minister to Brief Parliament on New Oil Contracts

Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani invited Petroleum Minister Bijan Zangeneh to attend a parliament session to brief members on new oil contracts.

Talking in the Sunday morning session of the Majlis, he said the Guardians Council has returned the new pattern of oil contracts to the parliament due to certain interpretations of the document.

He said the draft version of the contracts will be submitted to the energy commission of the parliament for further consideration.

A new draft for oil contracts proposed by Petroleum Ministry has caused controversy. The opponents of the proposed draft believe that it does not safeguard Iran’s interests adequately.
