Iran eased past Italy 3-2 (17-25, 25-17, 25-23, 22-25, 15-12) on Saturday evening at Bahrain’s Isa Sport City.
Pouria Yali was Iran’s top scorer with 23 points and Daniele Lavia led the Italian team with 19 points.
Iran had lost to Italy 3-1 in Pool F.
Brazil also finished in third place by sweeping Russia 3-0 (25-21, 27-25, 25-12).
Iran had achieved a bronze medal at the World Championship in 2007.
