Mahdi Akbarnejad, a disabled Iranian swimmer from Gilan province, received eight medals in an international competition in Germany called IDM.
The supervisor of the public relations department of Gilan Sports and Adolescent Office, Saeed Alipour, said that Mahdi Akbarnejad snatched four gold, two silver, and two bronze medals.
He explained that Akbarnejad ranked first in 50-metre freestyle, 100-metre freestyle, 100-metre butterfly and 200-metre medley swimming. Akbarnejad ranked second in 200-metre freestyle and in 50-metre butterfly.
The Iranian athlete received bronze medal in 100-metre front crawl and in 50-metre backstroke.
