Iran routed Poland 3-1 (25-20, 25-18, 20-25, 34-32) at the Men’s World Olympic Qualification Tournament at Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium on Saturday, and reserved the ticket to Rio 2016 Olympics after half a century.
Shahram Mahmoudi delivered a superb scoring performance. Mahmoudi had 24 points, including 20 attacks, two blocks and two aces, as reported by Tasnim.
Poland opposite Dawid Konarski, who started in the match, topped all scorers with 29 points, while teammate Artur Szalpuk logged 21 markers. Although Poland had more attacks in the match, but Iran limited their errors to a minimum of 18.
