Iran tourism: Natural tourist attractions of Qom

The tourist natural sceneries of the Iranian city of Qom, in southern Tehran, include pristine and unique places in the heart of the desert of which many in Iran are not aware.

In fact, they cannot imagine that such resorts exist in a desert city like Qom.

The unique places include Mereh wetland, Hoz Soltan salt wetland, Behesht Masoumeh wetland and the Salt Dome.

These places have been popular with some travelers and tourists in recent years.

Qom’s Salt Dome is located 15 kilometers from the Qom-Jafaria road.
The lake that exists between Qom’s salt domes is a unique aspect of the domes that has attracted many tourists.
The presence of salt crystals that are formed after the evaporation of the lake water has given an exotic beauty to this place.
The lake water between the salt domes evaporates when the weather gets warm and only some parts of the domes remain hydrated throughout the year due to high salt concentration there.
Qom’s Hoz Soltan wetland is located 40 kilometers from Qom along the Qom-Tehran highway.
Mereh wetland of Qom is the largest seasonal wetland in Qom Province after the salt lake which has become almost completely dry for many years now. This wetland hosts thousands of migratory birds each year. more
Migratory ducks are one the largest groups of migratory birds in Mereh Wetland.
Behesht Masoumeh is the only permanent wetland of Qom Province. The wetland covers an area of 5 square hectares.
Stilt (Himantopus) is a bird native to Iran that is seen in great numbers in Behesht Masoumeh wetland of Qom.
